Did you know that the 2001-2005 VW Golf has a sleeper sofa in the backseat? Well, it does and I'm gonna show you how to access yours! To the batcave Robin! Da da da da da da!
First, let's look at that backseat and divide it into four components; the first is the driver side seat back (#1) the second is the driver side seat bottom (#2) The third is the passenger side seat back (#3) and fourth is the passenger side seat bottom (#4).
When you lift these seat bottoms forward just before laying the seatback flat, you'll see the hinges that anchor the seat bottoms.
Then situate the seat bottoms into one of three configurations;

You may have noticed something very different in our Golfs once seatbacks #1& #3 are folded down. My trunk floor is level and flush with seatbacks #1 & #3 while yours is offset. Here's why:
